Friday Night Phenoms: Playoff Edition

With the playoffs kicked off in all classes, who stood out to help their team move to round 2?

Player of the Week

*Higley's Kelvin Fisher was outstanding in their win over Washington. The Arkansas bound back rushed for 246 yards and 5 TDs and intercepted 3 passes on D.


*Apollo junior Jon Brown accounted for 300 yards of offense and 4 TDs in the Hawks' win over Cactus Shadows.

*Queen Creek QB Adam Brzeczek passed for 226 yards and 3 TDs in their win over Kellis.

*What a night for Show Low's Rathen Ricedorff. He had 508 yards and 6 passing TDs as well as 2 rushing TDs against Winslow.

*An amazing season feat, Saguaro's Teddy Ruben went over the 2,000 yard passing and 2,000 yard rushing mark in their win over Moon Valley.

*Several QBs had big performances in losses, Seton Catholic's Anthony Wallace had 280 yards and 2 TDs, Red Mountain's Aaron Eiseler had 234 and 2. Brett Hundley had 279 and 2 and Cactus Shadows soph. Bryce Kinsler had 275 and 3 TDs.

*Chaparral junior Connor Brewer had 224 yards and 5 TDs in their win over Sunnyside.


*Filling in for an injured Anthony Shivers, Marcos' Martwon Weaver had 2 rushing TDs and a KOR TD in their revenge win over Perry.

*Mesquite's Anthony Lopez had 163 yards and 3 TDs against North Canyon.

*Cienega's Willie Willis rushed for 239 yards and had 3 TDs in their win over AJ.

*Peoria RB Devonte Shivers had 236 yard and 4 TDs in their win over Nogales.

*Boulder Creek's Mike Contreras scored 3 times against Fairfax. Same goes for Notre Dame RB Korey Jones, who had 142 yards and 3 TDs against Douglas.

*Greenway's Shawn Jones stood out in a loss to Mingus. He rushed for 206 yards and 3 TDs.

*Northwest Christian's Casey Jahn went for 198 yards and 3 TDs in their win over ALA.

*In Desert Ridge's upset win over Chandler, Joey Counts rushed for 213 yards and 2 scores.

*Junior D.J. Foster from Saguaro had 5 total TDs against Moon Valley.


*Queen Creek's Todd Kirchner had 135 yards and 3 TDs against Kellis.

*Chrisdeon Ayiyi from Apollo had 111 yards and 2 TDs on 6 catches against Cactus Shadows and intercepted 2 passes on D.

*Junior WR Josh Weeks had 10 catches for 284 yards and 3 TDs in Show Low's win over Winslow.

*Chaparral's Davonte' Neal had 102 yards and 2 TDs receiving as well as 1 rushing.

Special Teams/Defense

*What a night for Peoria DB Chris Chapman. He recorded 4 INTs against Nogales.

*Chandler WR Javon Williams not only had 135 yards and 2 TDs receiving, but he blocked 2 punts as well.

*The Notre Dame defense recorded 2 safeties and 5 INTs against Douglas. Recommended Stories
