The 2013 class in Arizona has seen a dramatic rise in scholarship offers for the upper echelon prospects in the class, those players, rightfully so, have received the vast majority of the media attention/hype.
Scout.com has learned today that a new player has jumped onto the map and received his first offer.
Anthem Boulder Creek corner Ryan McKinley is a player that stands out both on the field and in the classroom and he received a prestigious offer recently.
McKinley comments, "Yale offered me. Coach Reno sent a letter to my coach a while ago saying they were very interested based on my academic achievements as well as my athletic abilities. My father sent my film to them and they said I am the perfect fit in their system."
Now, Ivy League programs do not offer athletic money but that does not bother McKinley. He states, "I know there is no money but my parents and I are very interested because it is Yale."
Other programs that have expressed interest in the 6-1 180 pounder have been Oregon, Washington and South Dakota State.
McKinley carries a 3.5 GPA. He was named 2nd team all-section as a junior after making 39 tackles and 1 INT.
