Coyotes defeat Millennium 55-0 Friday to move to 2-0

With two top 10 ranked teams, most on hand expected a better game. But when it was all said and done, Centennial beat Millennium 55-0, with a running clock in the 3rd quarter and established themselves as the team to beat in D2.

The Coyotes jumped out to a 14-0 lead after the 1st quarter on two Jalen Ortiz touchdown runs.

Ortiz added a 52 yard TD pass from Tre Grant in the 2nd and the score remained the same for the remainder of the half...until the last minute.

Grant hit junior WR Oche Myers on a 25 yard scoring strike. Millennium then fumbled the kickoff return, Centennial recovered and Grant hit Shawn Poindexter for another score to make it 35-0 headed into halftime.

Ortiz intercepted the ball on The Opening drive, returning it to the 19 yard line. Dedrick Young scored from a yard out and the route was officially on.

In the 3rd quarter, the game switched to a running clock and Richard Taylor played most of his backups the remainder of the game. Austin Schleier and Tyler Simpson each scored to give us a final of 55-0.

Not much can be said. Centennial dominated in all phases of the game.

Game Ball

Pick one. Centennial D. Jalen Ortiz. Tre Grant.
