Week 2 of games are in the books, Luke Rubenzer wins POW, who else made the list?

Player of the Week

*Huge night for Saguaro's Luke Rubenzer, he passed for 370 yards and 3 TDs and rushed for 152 yards and 2 more scores in a win over T-Bird.


*Josh Eckley from Marcos rushed for 117 yards including the game winning TD versus Chaparral. He also threw a TD pass.

*Tre Grant from Centennial had 141 yards and 3 TDs passing in just over a half of play versus Millennium. He also rushed for 63 yards.

*Highland's Blake Young had 3 passing TDs and 1 rushing in a win over Gilbert.

*Fairfax QB Deylan Jones had 3 passing andf 1 rushing TD against La Joya.

*Empire QB Grayson Weeks passed for 231 yards and 5 TDs.

*Darell Garretson from Chandler had 3 TDs passes versus Maryvale.

*O'Connor's Jared Melson had 212 yards and 3 TDs in a win over North Canyon.


*Jalen Ortiz from Centennial had 2 rushing TDs, 1 receiving and had an INT versus Millennium.

*Pinnacle Josh Hoekstra set a school record rushing for 295 yards and 3 TDs against Cactus Shadows.

*In a loss to Saguaro, Thunderbird's Kani Benoit rushed for 205 yards and 3 TDs.

*Garett Craig from Mt. Pointe had 5 TDs against Mesa.

*Big rushing performances in Mt. Ridge/Basha game. Basha junior Rajhan Meiwether and Ridge's Treshawn Favors each had 3 TDs a piece.

*Ironwood has put up big rushing numbers this season. In a win over St. Mary's, the Eagles had two backs go over 200 yards. Mike Alexander had 203 and 2 TDs while Jett Robertson had 268 and 5 scores.

*Westview's Seivion Morris had 5 TDs in a win over Tolleson.

*Prescott's Brady Mengarelli had 4 rushing TDs, 1 receiving and 1 passing.

*Shadow Ridge's Chris Salsberry had 213 yards and 3 TDs in a win over Youngker.

*Greenway's Mark Dogbah had 246 yards and 5 TDs Friday night.

*Peoria's Ira Rojas had 283 yards and 3 TDs against Moon Valley


*Elroy Masters from Sunrise Mountain scored on all three of his catches, going for 168 yards.

Special Teams/Defense/Other

*Give it up for the Desert Ridge OL. The paved the way from 285 yards and 6 TDs. J.J. Husar and Tarek Morrison had 100 yards each.

*The Chandler defense had 2 safeties and returned a fumble for a score against Maryvale.
