Thunderbird beats Greenway

Led by RB Kani Benoit, Thunderbird cruises to 54-37 win on Thursday

Recap

Thunderbird's Kani Benoit returned the game's opening kickoff, his first of six touchdowns in what ended up being a 54-37 Chiefs win on the Cox 7 game of the week.

The Demons would score the next 10 points in the game, RB Mark Dogbah ran for a 60 yard score and short field goal gave Greenway their only lead of the game at 10-7.

Thunderbird scored 27 unanswered points before the half ended to build a 34-10 lead.

Tbird QB Jake Glatting hooked up with John Raynak for a 30 yard TD, Benoit scored two more times and Glatting found Adam Turner in the endzone just before the half.

The halftime score looked ugly but Thunderbird scored twice in the last minute of the half to pull away.

The second half had plenty of fireworks as the two teams combined for 47 points but Greenway never pulled within 17 points.

Final Thunderbird 54 Greenway 37

Bottomline

Credit Greenway for making a run in the second half but defense wins championships and they struggled tonight to stop Benoit.

Game Ball

Easy pick. Kani Benoit rushed for 220 yards and 4 TDs. He also had two kickoff returns for scores and had a third called back.

Also have to give props to Mark Dogbah, RB from Greenway. He had over 225 yards rushing.
