Scottsdale (Ariz.) Chaparral tight end/defensive end, Trevor Wood, was one of the juniors in Tempe this past weekend, checking out Arizona State.

"It went well," he reports. "We got there, we signed in and stuff, then we went up to the meeting room and basically had meetings on offense/defense and what they're about, on education and being successful. They told us how their motto is character, Coach Graham was telling us about that.

"We toured their facilities and then we talked more and a bunch of us went to the basketball game."

Junior Day left Wood with a good impression of ASU.

"I liked it," he tells FOX Sports NEXT. "They were telling me about how I could be successful at the three-back, which is a tight end. I watched some film and I really liked how they used that.

"They were just saying how they think I fit their program character wise and playing wise. I liked the coaches, so everything went well, it was a good trip."

The 2014 prospect is already receiving interest from programs throughout the nation.

"The offers I have are Arizona, ASU, Utah, and Washington," he says. "And I was told Stanford is going to offer me soon, in the next couple of weeks.

"I've been talking to a lot of people, the schools standing out are Stanford, Oregon, Oregon State, Oklahoma, Washington, Arizona, Arizona State, Notre Dame, LSU, and schools like that."

Wood is excited about the recruiting attention, but will wait to name leaders.

"No favorites yet," he states. "I'll probably make a list or shorten the list after spring ball."
