Horizon Over PV

Huskies score 35 unanswered in win over PV on Cox 7 game of the week

Breakdown

Horizon jumped out to a 28-7 lead in the 1st quarter, looking unstoppable at times on offense while also getting a scoop and score TD on defense by junior LB Cole Finochiarro.

PV fought back in the second quarter to make the game interesting. The teams traded scores to start the 2nd quarter, PV scoring on a Max Vankempen run while Horizon scored on a Dalton Sneed to Luke Quinn pass. 35-14.

The Trojans got two straight scores to get within 7 points. Vankempen scored again and Jacob Brown returned an INT for a score. Horizon kicked a field goal as time expired in the first half. 38-28.

But it was all Horizon in the second half. Quinn scored four straight TDs, three on runs of 30 yards or more and another on pass from Sneed.

Horizon added one more score with the backups in to make the final 73-28.

Bottomline

After struggling in the 1st quarter, PV showed some scrappiness to get back in this game 38-28 at halftime. Horizon was just too much, they had better size and couldn't be stopped on O. After the first four teams in division-two, there are about eight teams that I think are equal, PV is in that group. Horizon showed good balance of run and pass and many of their best players are juniors, they will be good the next two years.

Game Ball

Going to go with Horizon RB Luke Quinn. He had over 300 yards of offense and scored 6 times. A close second goes to QB Dalton Sneed who had over 400 yards passing.
