Last season North HS had a
breakout year. LB/TE Cody Dowd (6’3 215) was a big contributor in North’s
success. 24-7 had a chance to visit with him…

year?
Cody: 173 tackles (130 solos), 2 sacks
and 4 INTS on defense. On offense, 23 carries for 135 yards and 3 TDs and 8
catches for 132 yards.
24-7: Who is currently recruiting
you? Any early offers?
Cody: I was
invited to junior day at UofA and I have received 2 letters from University of Georgia. No I have not received
any offers.
24-7: Who was your
favorite team growing up?
Cody: My favorite college
team when I was growing up was Nebraska because I was a lineman when I was
growing up and the have a good school for lineman.
24-7: Would you
consider staying in-state to play in college?
Cody: I would definitely
stay in state if I got the chance.
24-7: What are your
goals as far as football is concerned?
Cody: My first
goal is to go play at a division 1 school, after that I want to go to the
NFL.

Cody: I will prepare for

you will play in college?
Cody: In
college I think I will play ILB but I will play wherever they want me
to.
24-7: What can we
expect from North next year?
Cody: Next year North
should be a solid team. We lost a lot of good starters but we are also getting a
lot back. I think that we have a good chance this year and it will be
fun.
24-7: Who are some
players we should watch out for at North?
Cody: There are a lot of
players that are going to turn some heads this year but mainly Erik Archuleta
(SR QB), Max Moyes (SR WR/LB), and myself.
24-7: Who was the
best player you faced?
Cody: Brandon Whitby QB
from Camelback. I picked him because he picked apart our defense with
his arm and he really is the only one that did. Him or Johnny Martinez
from Sunrise
Mt., he was just really
fast and strong.
24-7: What can you
bring to a D1 program?
Cody: I can make big
plays, I have good intensity and I have a nose for the
