players in Arizona is Sabino fullback and defensive end
Brooks Reed. The versatile player has already fielded 5 D1 offers and we expect
more to come. Brooks is currently ranked the #15 RB, #12 DL and #4 punter on our
position rankings lists.
Football.com: What were your stats from last season?
53 carries for 382 yards, 5 rushing touchdowns, longest carry was 37 yards. 13
receptions for 155 yards, 2 receiving touchdowns, longest reception was for 28
yards. Also 5, 2-pt conversion receptions that are not reflected in the 13
receptions. 42 tackles with 6 sacks and one safety. I am also the
punter for Sabino and had a 44 yard punting average through the Cienega game,
with a longest punt of 57 yards.
What is your official height and weight?
I'm 6" 3", and currently weigh about 220.
What is your greatest football memory?
Our last second win over Cienega last year.
What are your goals for the upcoming season?
8 yard average per carry and to double my offensive and defensive output of last
How are you preparing for the upcoming season? Will you attend any camps this
I am running track for the third year to improve my speed and I wrestled, again
for the third year, to improve my strength, balance and toughness. I
have registered for the NIKE combine in Palo Alto and the NRTA session at
ASU. I would also like to attend one camp at one of my favorite
universities but I will wait on that decision to see which schools have the most
What would you consider to be your strengths and weaknesses as a player?
My strengths are my physical strength, athleticism and ferocity. Not
to jinx myself but I have only fumbled once in two years and am a sure passing
target. My weaknesses are that I am not a 4.3 40 runner and I don't
really lay people out as much as I would like when I am

I have received information forms from maybe a dozen schools and been invited to
junior day at two (U of A and UCLA). I have no offers yet. (Since this interview Brooks has reported
offers from Purdue, ASU, UofA, Colorado
St and Cal).
Would you consider staying in state to play in
What would your top 5 college choices be?
My favorites at this point in time would be The U of A, UCLA, Purdue, Oregon and BYU.
Who is the best player you ever played against? Why?
Cody Jones because of his size and dominance of the line.
What other sports do you play?
Wrestling and track.
What are your best lifts in the bench, squat, power clean and 40?

How do you think your coach would describe you as a player?
"I would describe Brooks as a player who has a motor that never
stops. He has the ability on defense to run down a play from sideline
to sideline. Offensively, he can run between the tackles but also has
the speed to beat defenders to the perimeter. However, his best
offensive attributes are his soft hands. He has improved tremendously
as a blocker"- Jay Campos.
What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?
To do other sports between football seasons, to stay active and stay in shape.
Tell us what can we expect from Sabino this season?
At Sabino we pride ourselves on preparing each season with the legitimate
goal of winning a state championship. We are not satisfied with last
season's end result and plan on finishing this season in December at Sun
What position do you think you will play in college?
FB, TE or LB. I have played DE since I was in Pop Warner and love the
position but I think I am too small right now to be considered for that position
in college. Maybe even punter if needed.
What can a college program expect from you as a player?
I feel I am a player that is just beginning to see what my potential is. I
am getting bigger, stronger and faster almost every day. I am rarely
injured and a college can expect 100% from me on the field, in the classroom and
in the way I conduct my life.
