Player of the Week
You have to go with Desert Ridge QB Kevin Pantastico. Despite loss to Red Mountain, Pantastico threw for a ridiculous 595 yards and 6 TDs.
Quarterbacks
*Mt. Ridge’s Kevin Yost had a nice outing versus Skyline. He went 16 of 24 for 204 yards and 2 scores. He added another rushing TD.
*Tucson High QB Pete Borquez went 10 of 16 for 236 yards and 4 TDs, helping them break their 25 game losing streak.
*Millennium junior Mike Massey has been on fire. In the Tigers’ loss to Sabino, Massey threw for 383 yards and 3 TDs.
*Mt. View’s Blake Decker went 10 for 17 for 179 yards and had 2 passing and 2 rushing scores.
Running Backs
*Red Mountain’s Derek Molina had 33 carries for 211 yards and 2 scores in their game versus Desert Ridge.
*St. Mary’s RB RJ McGill had 195 yards and 2 scores on just 16 carries.
*Jeremiah Cornist from La Joya had another big night, rushing for 167 yards and 3 TDs.
*Giancarlo Dale from Shadow Mountain continues to impress. This week he rushed for 227 yards and 4 TDs on 27 carries.
*I have talked about Alchesay’s Stephone Hanna previously. This week he rushed for 6 scores and added 3 two-point conversions.
*Arizona Lutheran RB Caleb Candler carries the rock 35 times for 275 yards and 3 TDs.
*Pinnacle’s Taylor Stib rushed for 183 yards and 3 TDs.
Receivers
*For the 2nd week in a row, Globe’s Brady Wager makes this list. He rushed 7 times for 151 yards and 4 TDs. He caught 2 passes for 96 yards and a score. He returned an INT for a TD and kicked a FG in their win over Florence.
*Peoria’s Jeremy Dang had 5 catches for 92 yards and 3 TDs.
Defense
*Boulder Creek’s Deshawn Briggs was huge for BC in their win over Horizon. He recorded 11 tackles, 1 sack, 1 TFL, 3 INTs and had a 40 yard rushing TD.
*The Notre Dame defense held Independence to -15 yards rushing.
Special Teams
*Saguaro kicker Steve Chiapetti kicked a state record 10 PATs in the Sabercats win versus Agua Fria.
