Player of the Week
Boulder Creek QB Taylor Davis has been hot lately. He went 14 of 17 for 278 yards and 6 TDs in their win over Valley Vista.
Quarterbacks
*Desert Vista QB Cody Sokol makes the list for the first time. He threw for 402 yards and 4 TDs against Yuma.
*Mt. Ridge’s Kevin Yost has been a regular on the Phenoms list. He passed for 298 yards and 4 scores and had another rushing TD on Friday.
*McClintock QB Eric Urry not only had 200 yards of offense and scored 2 TDs, he also had 2 INTs from his safety spot.
*Clay Thorsen from Thunderbird has typically been a RB and he used those running skills to get O’Connor from 110 yards and 2 TDs on the ground. He also passed for 292 yards and 2 scores.
*Valley Lutheran’s Luke Waolkos was 12 of 17 for 282 yards and 4 TDs versus Salt River.
*Catalina QB Dan McIver had 207 yards and 4 TDs.
*Greenway QB Greg Walton passed for 270 yards and threw 3 TDs against Glendale.
Running Backs
*Two backs didn’t have impressive rushing yards but make the list for finding the endzone. Scotty Brown from Sabino scored 5 times versus Nogales and Manny Aguilar from Sunnyside had 5 against casa Grande.
*Empire RB Albert Caseila had 232 yards and 2 scores against Florence.
*CDO’s Griffin Ronstadt had 240 yards and 3 scores against Marana.
*Corona’s Michael Lange was big versus Chandler. He rushed for 183 yards and 3 scores to help CDS remain undefeated.
*Another regular to the list has been Kaylin Ashley from Coronado. He rushed for 274 yards and 3 scores versus Tempe.
*Peoria’s Jamal Miles had 256 yards rushing and 3 TDs and returned a punt for a 4th score in their win over Millennium.
*The Dodson brothers, Paul and Tavon, from North Canyon combined for 265 yards and 5 TDs against Trevor Browne.
*Sophomore Carlton Williams had a big night against La Joya carryng the rock 17 times for 237 yards and 3 TDs.
*Mike Brown had 5 TDs against Copper Canyon.
Receivers
*Adam Hall rushed for 161 yards and a score and returned a kick for another score Friday Night..
*Desert Ridge’s Chris Heldore came was big in the Cox 7 spotlight. They reported one time in the game that he had 9 catches for 170 yards and a score. He also picked off a pass on D.
*Nogales WR Camilo Villegas caught 6 passes for an amazing 240 yards and 4 TDs against Sabino.
*Hamilton’s Drew Terrell caught 9 passes for 103 yards and a score against Highland.
*Gilbert wideout Jesse Brantley caught 4 passes for 150 yards and a score against Mesquite.
*Greenway’s Ryan Harper had 8 catches for 161 yards and a score.
*Valley Lutheran’s aaron Krause made the most of his 3 catches, scoring 2 times and amassing 113 yards.
Defense
*Corona’s D came up big in their win over Chandler, picking the ball off 4 times. Two by Evan Altheide and two by Ryan Nolan.
