QB- Taylor Davis- Boulder Creek- His improvement from his junior to senior year was amazing. He passed for 2,367 yards, 26 TDs versus just 6 INTs. Committed to Idaho.
Honorable Mention- Jourdan Grandon (JR)- Westview, Pearce Swerdferger- Deer Valley, Kevin Pantastico (JR)- Desert Ridge
RB- John Hughes- Centennial- Easiest selection for this team. No one can argue with this one.
RB- Jeremiah Cornist- La Joya- Lined up at QB but scampered for 1,300 yards.
Honorable Mention- J.C. Baker (JR)- Yuma, C.J. Williams (SOPH)- Westview, Manny Aguilar- Sunnyside, Anthony Hughes (JR)- Centennial, Aaron Hardwick- South Mountain
WR- Chris Heldore- Desert Ridge- 900 yards receiving and added 800 yards rushing. Totaled 24 touchdowns.
WR- Justin Rodriguez (JR) Marcos de Niza- The 6-3 junior caught 49 passes for 833 yards and 11 scores.
Honorable Mention- Justin Callahan- Centennial, Nate Skousen- Deer Valley, Scott Campbell- Ironwood Ridge
TE- Donaven Anderson- Horizon- No one came close to his production. Caught 63 passes for 782 yards and 6 scores.

OL- Nick Rowland (JR)- Centennial- Had a great junior year and already holds D1 offers.
OL- Markus Klune- Ironwood Ridge- A bit undersized but very athletic. Great in pass-pro.
OL- Fred Herdman- Pinnacle- Two-way first team all-region selection proved he recovered from his knee injury.
OL- Fred Thornton- South Mountain- Not too often are linemen named their region’s player of the year.
OL- Kevin Ashak- Desert Ridge- Someone had to block for DR’s high-powered offense and Ashak was the leader upfront.
Honorable Mention- Bryan Gabbard- Centennial, Josue Howerton- Willow Canyon
DL- Jimmie Lewis- Centennial- 18 sacks and was unblockable in some games.
DL- Andrew Hurley (JR)- Pinnacle- Another 18 sack performer.
DL- Terry Williams- Westview- Played some end, tackle and fullback and managed 76 tackles and 12 sacks on the year.
DL- Brett Thompson- Marcos de Niza- Had a great year, registering 91 tackles and 13.5 sacks.
Honorable Mention- Vincent Keener- Westview, Mark Leal- Sunnyside, Chad Dietrich- Ironwood Ridge
LB- Ramon Abreau (JR)- Marcos de Niza- 140 tackles, 6 picks and the Pima Player of the Year.
LB- Austin Arias (JR)- Centennial- Was named the Desert West Defensive player of the year after recording 110 tackles.
LB- Ray Cottman- Ironwood Ridge- Had 99 tackles and was all over the field all season long. Stepped up when Fischer was hurt to lead.
Honorable Mention- Tommy Brown- Skyline, Jake Fischer- Ironwood Ridge, Reggie Umuolo- Centennial, Anthony Rose- Marcos de Niza, Collin Stoffel- Willow Canyon, Eric Ramsey- Westview
DB- Joseph Lamar- South Mountain- Recorded 60 tackles and a 5A2 leading 9 picks.
DB- Malik Parra- Sunnyside- Had 6 INTs for the Blue Devils.
DB- Jumanne Robertson- Deer Valley- Didin’t get a lot of pub but Robertson was one of the most physical CBs I saw play this year.
DB- Tim Parker- Ironwood- Another play that didn’t get a lot of publicity but Parker was good on both sides of the ball for the Eagles.
Honorable Mention- Chris Jamison- Desert Ridge, Donovan Henley- Marcos de Niza
Return- John Hughes- Centennial- The most dangerous man in 5a2 with the ball in his hands.
All Purpose- Deshaun Briggs- Boulder Creek- If it weren’t for Hughes, Briggs would be the 5A2 player of the year. He was dominant! He had 1100+ yards receiving, 100+ tackles, 6 sacks and 7 INTs.
