With every team in AZ now having a game under their belt, who stood out?
Player of the Week
North Canyon junior QB Dominic Portocarrero had a huge night on both sides of the ball against Fairfax. He passed for 243 yards and 3 TDs, rushed for 95 yards and a score. Had 6 tackles and returned an INT for a 6th score.
QB
Brophy soph Chase Knox makes the list again. He threw 4 TDs against Gilbert.
Kellis is on a roll and this week
Chad Snider
amassed over 300 yards of offense. he passed fr 159 yards and 4 TDs and rushed for 174 yards and 1 TD in their win over Cortez.
In a loss, Seton QB
Justin Sieczkowski
passed for 388 yards and 5 scores.
Arcadia's
Colby Kirkegaard
threw 4 TDs in their win over Coconino.
It was a coming out party for Apollo sophomore John Brown. He had 4 passing Tds, 243 yards and 2 rushing TDs in the Hawks win over Washington.
Dillon Claussen was huge in Cactus Shadow's upset of Cienega. He had 257 yards on 25 of 35 passing on the night.
RB
No good RB can run without a good offensive line and Chaparral's paved the way for three backs to rush for 308 yards on just 36 carries against Boulder Creek. Amphi's line paved the way for 372 rushing yards versus Seton Catholic.
Cactus' Alen Woods made Cobra fans start to forget about
Mike Brown
. Woods rushed for 236 yards against Coronado.
Horizona's Matt Jones rushed for 186 yards and 4 TDs against Yuma.
CDO got a big win over Santa Rita. They were led by
KaDeem Carey
who had 4 TDs, two over 80 yards.
In small ball, Northwest Christian's
Casey Jahn
rushed for 254 yards and 5 TDs.
In a losing effort, Cienega's Williw Willis rushed for 277 yards on 26 carries against Cactus Shadows.
WR
Cactus Shadows WR Jaree Schroder had 12 grabs for 164 yards in their upset of Cienega.
