Player of the Week
Sunnyside RB Manny Vera set a 5A single game rushing record when he went for 409 yards versus Nogales.
QBs
*Dominic Portocarrerro from North Canyon threw for 263 yards and 4 TDs versus Fairfax.
*Saguaro’s Teddy Ruben was 9 of 11 for 217 and 3 TDs versus Copper Canyon.
*Ryan Stanford from Horizon threw 4 TDs and 221 yards versus Yuma.
*In a loss to Centennial, Chandler’s Brett Hundley had 309 passing and 2 TDs and 117 yards and 1 TD on the ground.
*Washington’s Devonte Smythe was big in the Rams’ upset of Apollo throwing for 233 yards and 3 TDs.
*Brandon McEuen of Safford High School was 16 of 19 for 266 yards 3 TD and 1 INT and also rushed 14 times for 203 yards and 2 TD in a 41-22 win over rival Thatcher
*Florence’s Jace Husley accounted for 6 TDs against Coolidge, 3 rushing and 3 passing.
RBs
*Willow Canyon’s Garrick Shelton rushed for 220 yards and 2 TDs versus South Mountain.
*Queen Creek RB Chim Nga had 179 yards and 2 TDs versus Higley.
*Hamilton’s Jai Johnson rushed for 151 yards and 2 TDs versus Westview.
*Deer Valley RB Trae Armstrong had 3 TDs, 2 rushing and 1 receiving to go along with his 141 rushing yards.
*Thunderbird RB Conner Hustead rushed for 160 yards and 3 TDs on just 9 carries against Flagstaff.
Receivers
*Anas Hasic from North Canyon had a huge night, he had 7 catches for 249 yards and 2 TDs. He added 80 yards rushing with another TD. On defense he had an INT and returned a fumble for another score.
*Desert Edge junior Anthony Fletcher had 7 catches for 136 yards and 2 TDs.
*Centennial’s Gary Ross had 3 TDs in a win over Chandler.
*Florence’s Kyle Washington had 3 total TDs in their route of Coolidge. He scored on from 60 and 75 yards out and returned a punt 76 yards for a score.
*John Leonard from Cactus Shadows caught 11 passes for 149 yards and 4 TDs in their big win over Cienega.
*Mt. Pointe’s Garrett Holle had 5 catches for 159 yards and 1 TD versus Highland.
*Bradshaw Mountain WR James Reyes had over 100 yards receiving and 2 TDs in a win over Paradise Valley.
Defense/Special Teams
*North Canyon LB James Ley had 16 tackles.
*Buckeye DB Yogi Hale had 3 INTs in a win over Maricopa.
